Community News Roundup ~ March 13, 2025

Greetings, dear readers!

Tomorrow, March 14, is Pi (π) day. Pi is a mathematical constant, approximately equal to 3.14159, that is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter.

Pi day, as an unofficial holiday, is a perfect excuse to eat a piece of pie! While reading up on the Great Depression I came across a recipe for vinegar pie, one of several “desperation pie” recipes created using ingredients that were available and affordable at the time. Unfortunately, the recipe calls for three eggs, which in today’s economy makes it more decadent than desperate!

There’s your reminder to sit down with a cup of coffee, your community newspaper, and a slice of your favorite pie, and catch up on local news!
