The robins and meadow larks are warbling their joyous songs to-day; in fact everybody is joyous–except those who have the “grip.”

Mayor Oldland is a genuine sport. His latest acquisition is a lot of pure bred Belgian hares.

An effort will be made during the coming week to have Rio Blanco County represented at the forthcoming Denver convention by twenty of our representative citizens.

April showers are starting in early.

Fred Burke of Piceance was a town visitor Tuesday, attending to business and swapping talk with town friends. 

The Moffat Tunnel Commission has financed itself for future requirements, and makes the announcement that it has borrowed, on behalf of the Moffat Tunnel Improvement District, the sum of $2,500,000.

Leaving Monday morning for the State FBLA contest held Tuesday and Wednesday at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs were these high school students of Mrs. Paul Starbuck and Charles Holmes. 

Beginning April 7 at 7:30, Margo Krager will start an advanced needlepoint class. 

The Meeker Lions Club sponsored Easter Egg hunt and basket judging contest was a big success. First place winners in the basket contest were Ed Bivens, Robert Eaton, and Haley McKay.

Last Saturday, March 25, over 300 Pee Wee wrestlers Shelly Rogers and Jeri Hahnenberg were checking races in at the Meeker Relays last Saturday. Shelly is the swim team coach this year and said the team has already started practicing on Sundays in Rangely’s indoor pool.

The Meeker Boys traveled back to Craig last Wednesday to play a third and bragging right deciding hockey game against the Craig Ice Dawgs.

Lack of a quorum prevented any motions being passed at the last town board meeting March 25.

Rangely’s fourth quarter 1974 sales reached $2,804,000 and recorded an 86.8% increase over the fourth quarter of 1973.

The social impact of future oil shale development on Meeker, Rangely, and other communities in northwestern Colorado is to be studied under a two-month, $24,000 contract.

The US West Widening Our World program will be coming to Rangely soon, offering Internet classes for Rio Blanco County community members of all ages.

On March 28, the Rangely High School Lady Panther Basketball Team held its award dinner in the commons at RHS. Academic All State Awards selected by CHSAA went to Nicole Sprunger, Candice Brown, and Darci Dunn. 

The students at Rangely High are very excited for Rowdy Worm. Student Council has hooked up with Healthy Alternatives to make a more wonderful night.
