Happy Herald Day (and Happy Halloween, a little early)!
Dear readers, I have a personal favor to ask of you. Some of you know that I am back in college. This semester I’m taking Applied Research Methods and my class project is to conduct a study about news consumption. If you could take a few minutes to complete a brief survey (click the button below), I’d really appreciate your help! Thank you in advance. ~Niki
Tonight — Oct. 30, from 4-6 p.m. — is the night for the Howl-o-Ween event at the Meeker Animal Shelter. What’s better than pets in costumes and an opportunity to donate to a good cause?
Tomorrow is Pumpkins, Eats N’ Treats downtown, starting at 4 p.m. If you haven’t attended in the past, put it on your calendar, even if you don’t have kids going trick-or-treating!
And then on Saturday, the county is hosting Ashes to Action, an update on fire recovery efforts accompanied by a potluck meal at the Fairfield Center (200 Main St.) That event starts at 5 p.m.
Whew… for the introverts among us, you might need to schedule some solitary time on Sunday to recharge your social batteries! The good news is you’ll get a extra hour to do that, because this weekend is the time change. The bad news? It will be dark an hour earlier in the evenings again.
