The Marland Oil company contemplates again drilling the Meeker dome. This was the welcome news which was circulated about Meeker this week.
Meeker will be represented at the Denver Stock Show next week as a member of our citizens who are attending convention during the week will be there.
Word from Rangely is to the effect that Texas officials state that if everything goes as smoothly as at present that the fate of the Rangely oil field will be tested and known by March 1.

A number of crimes which range from gas stealing to window smashing have recently been solved according to Meeker policemen Bill Elder and Mike Murphy.
The 4-H Dog Obedience has really turned out to be a great success this year, with 18 members, 9 of them new.
Meeker wrestlers mauled Rangely, 41-12.

Richard Dean Walker was the first baby born in the bicentennial year of 1976 at the Rangely District Hospital on January 7th.
PITCHER, the local 3.2 bar, and the Beauty Bar were burglarized over the weekend, according to reports received by the Rangely branch of the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office. Two suspects have been apprehended.
Chevron Pipeline Co. will be interviewing for new hires on January 20 at the Chevron pump station.

Joe Collins is now retired as Rio Blanco County Commissioner after 12 years, three terms, representing the eastern, “upriver” district.
The Rangely Foundation for Public Giving awarded $1,500 for the upcoming Northwestern Slope Professional Rodeo to be in June.
Freshman Lee Overton was congratulated by smiling teammates after pinning Fruita’s Peter Frigetto to secure a team victory for the Cowboys.
