John F. Wilson of Thornburg says 13 feet of snow fell during the past season on Wilson flat tops and adjacent ridges of the Milk Creek and Morapos watersheds.
Strehlke and Givens received a beautiful soda fountain Tuesday, and the City Drug store will not present an appearance which will be hard to resist. Especially appealing will its attractions be to the youth who is trying to make an impression on his best girl.

The concrete floor and stage in the High School auditorium has been completed. The plastering of the walls will be done after the commencement exercises are over. During June the maple floor will be laid.
During the past few weeks several of the town boosters have been discussing the advisability of holding a 4th of July celebration in Meeker this year. The businessmen of town were approached on the subject and it appeared that the greater portion of them were strong for having a celebration.

Selected to reign over the 90th annual Range Call festival this coming July 2-4 are these young MHS ladies. Out of five competitors, Tami Anderson was selected by the judges as Miss Range Call Queen while Marci Kracht was named first attendant and Annette Chambers, second.
Having completed the first 60 yard wall pour of the new water tank, construction crews were busy this week framing for another pour Friday. In all, over 600 cubic yards of cement will be needed to complete the 500,000 storage cylinder.

Nine women were out Tuesday for Ladies Day. Vicky Lasley took top honors for being closest to the pin on the sixth hole after chipping onto the green. Maxine Enterline had a great day. She chipped-in on the 4th hole. All in all, everyone had a good time.

The city police and public works department in conjunction with the county, sanitation district and GTM will be canvassing Meeker this weekend picking up back of garbage, limbs, old refrigerators, etc., as part of the annual clean-up campaign.
Donald Shriver and Nickey Shriver are proud to announce the engagement of their daughter Tawny Shriver to John Halandras son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Halandras, all of Meeker. A December wedding is planned.
