Travel delays and short-term closures possible
MEEKER | Roadwork to improve the East Beaver Road (National Forest System Road 250) in the Blanco Ranger District begins June 1. Short-term delays may be possible.
The work will begin at the forest boundary northeast of Lake Avery and continue for 17.6 miles. The project includes improvements to the East Beaver Creek crossing, heavy roadway reconditioning, drainage structure reconditioning, approximately 10 miles of gravel haul and placement, parking improvements, culvert installations, cattleguard cleaning and installation, gate replacements, and sign installation. It is funded by the Federal Lands Transportation Program.
The project is anticipated to continue through much of the summer. The roadwork could create some minor travel delays along the road and a possible several-day closure while crews complete the improvements at the crossing at East Beaver Creek.
“We appreciate the public’s patience as these important improvements are completed this summer,” said Blanco District Ranger Curtis Keetch.
