RANGELY I The big boys are headed to Rangely this weekend as national circuit drivers will be bringing their four-wheelers to town to compete on Saturday and Sunday at the Rangely Rock Park, starting both days at 9 a.m.
The We Rock competition is part of a national profession circuit, where riders compete for points and ultimately the big payday at the end of the season.
Rangely Rock Park is located roughly 2 miles south of Rangely, heading south down River Road, a turnoff of Main Street on the west end of town.
The organizers advertise the weekend event as “spectator friendly with easy access along with vendors.”
“We are expecting 20 to 25 competitors from the region, including Idaho, Colorado, Washington, Arizona, Utah and California,” said Shelley Krehbiel, events manager for We Rock Events.
“We have three pro classes–ProMod, Unlimited and Mod Stock–that include some world champions,” she said. “In addition, we offer a Sportsman class for those that want to try competing; we require just some safety equipment for anyone who would like to see how they could do.”
Admission is $25 per adult for two days, $15 per adult for one day, $5 per day for youths eight to 15 years, and kids seven years and under are free.
