Several carved pumpkins were on the auction block at Saturday night’s Halloween Gala at Meeker’s Fairfield Center, put on to raise funds for Hope-West Meeker. The carvings were all done by students at Meeker High School. Holliday’s prepared a prime rib dinner and hors d’oeuvres were prepared by Wendll’s.
Cowboys, zombies, puppeteers, Mad Max characters, maids, the Tin Man, a slab of bacon and the cast members of “Grease” were all present for the Halloween Gala on Saturday night. The winner of the Best Female Costume was Tanya Rodriquez.
When one arrived at the festive event on Saturday night, those present were offered a glass of champagne for a toast to begin the fun. The hostess on hand to offer the bubbly to those arriving was a very well costumed Stephanie Kobald, the executive director of the Meeker Chamber of Commerce.
Great costumes were on hand for the HopeWest-Meeker Halloween Gala on Saturday night, but the overwhelming favorites were the couple who dressed up as pre-operative Bruce Jenner and post-operative Caitlyn Jenner, portrayed by Sarah and Matt Printz. They won for Best Overall Costumes.
A wide variety of costumes were on display at Saturday night’s HopeWest-Meeker Halloween Gala at the Fairfield Center in Meeker. The center was packed to capacity for the dinner, auctions, dance and costume contest. The winners of the Best Group Costume were, from left, Diana Jones, Mike Jones, Jill Dunbar, Dale Dunbar, Darshan Merrell and Doug Merrell, representing Star Wars.
