After Birth Ball…

Dancers ranging in age from very young to not so young took to the dance floor on Saturday following the After Birth Ball, a celebration of the calving and lambing season as well as a fund-raising event for the Meeker High School FFA. More than 150 people took part in the prime rib dinner catered by Holliday’s in Meeker then joined in with the dancing to music by the Caleb Dean Band. There was also a silent auction and regular auction of goods to help FFA raise money for their projects and expenses for the upcoming year. The event was held at the Fairfield Center in downtown Meeker and all the serving and attending to those present was done by the members of the FFA.

There were plenty of items on the silent and regular auction block Saturday evening during the After Birth Ball fundraiser for the local FFA team, who served the meal, cleaned up afterward, delivered tea and water and did all the things required to serve the guests. Several thousand dollars were raised during the event, but the final tally was not known as of press time Tuesday.
