RANGELY | Parkview Elementary School (PVE) faculty and staff will host the fourth annual “A Night at Hogwarts” event at the school this Friday, Oct. 21 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The Harry Potter-themed fundraiser, which typically draws hundreds of participants county-wide, will feature returning favorites like Honeyduke’s Sweet Shop, potions and astronomy classes and a range of characters, among them Headmaster Dumbledore, Mad-Eye Moody and Hermione.
Additions to the newest Hogwarts event include Madame Malkin’s Robes for All Occasions, where witches and wizards can purchase official Harry Potter t-shirts; the Dragon’s Lair, which offers stuffed dragons and dragon eggs; new wizarding classes; and more Quidditch matches.
Organizer and second-grade teacher Vicki Douglas noted that participants need not have prior knowledge of the Harry Potter book series or movies, though those who understand the series’ many references tend to enjoy them.
Tickets ($10 per family or $3 per person) can be purchased ahead of time at the Parkview Elementary front office or at the door the evening of the event. Galleons, the currency of Hogwarts, are also available for early purchase for $1 each or at Gringott’s Bank on Oct. 21.
All money raised funds classroom and other school-related expenses and returns Hogwarts to the community each year.
