Birthday celebration

RANGELY | Bill and Martha Mitchem of Rangely celebrated their 80th birthdays — she turned in 80 in January and he turns 80 in October — last weekend with their five children and eight of the 10 grandchildren who were in town for the occasion. The Mitchems moved to Rangely in 1956 to teach at the high school and “put down roots and stayed,” Bill said. “We really liked the place.”
