On Tuesday, Sept. 26 at approximately 2 p.m., Rio Blanco County Communications Center received a call of a brush fire approximately mile marker 4 on County Road 7 (Strawberry Creek). The fire was moving rapidly toward structures and vehicles. Meeker Fire, Craig Interagency BLM, Rio Blanco County Sherriff’s Office and Rio Blanco County Road and Bridge responded and were able to contain the fire by 4:30 p.m. The fire is currently under investigation.
