In the presence of a few invited friends, Mr. Arthur Wilber and Miss Anna Kracht were united in marriage at Glenwood, last Sunday.

Following are the names of the 1918 graduates: Helen Anderson, Clara Critchlow, Mae Esther Fish, G. Ira Hahn, Colin A. Smith, Robert Wharton, Ruth Wharton.

The thing most needed in this valley is rain, as the wind of the past few weeks has dried the ground out pretty freely.

On Tuesday evening, the stork, as ν sisted by Dr. French, visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Murray, and left a fine girl. All well.

Mr. and Mrs. Pierre Etchart announce the birth of their son born Thursday, May 16 at 4:35 a.m. at Pioneers Hospital weighing 6 pounds and is 18-1/2 inches in length. He has been named John Pierre.

The two highest ranking seniors, Charles Bewley and Phillip Jensen, Jr., led the 52 seniors to be graduated Tuesday evening, May 21, at commencement exercises held in the Meeker High School auditorium. A tradition which was started in 1918 was continued Tuesday evening when Bewley and Jensen passed the mantle to the highest ranking junior, Cindy Nieslanik

– Meeker won its second straight NWL track and field championship Saturday.

Miss Kay Brennan was selected as Miss Range Call Queen for 1968 last Sunday. First attendant is Miss Terry Butler and Miss Jolene Mobley is second attendant. Mary K. Villa and Margaret Jensen were the two other girls to enter the contest.

Dr. Daniel Olson told the Pioneers Hospital Board that patients and medical staff “have been very nice” and he’s happy “to be settled in.” Dr. Olson is the first doctor to sign on permanently as a result of a nine-month search.

Superglue was reportedly put in locks of a gate to Jim Sheridan’s cow camp.

The 10th Maybe Annual Almost Meeker to Rangely Canoe Race will be held on Memorial Day.

The Rangely Times — 50 years ago

Commencement exercises were held Wednesday evening at the high school auditorium for 50 Rangely High School seniors. Principal speaker for the evening was Ed Hildenbrand, Colorado Director of the Western States Small Schools Project.

Thieves broke into Gambles Store here some time Friday night and got away with about $300 in merchandise. Owner Ray Carnes said this week that 70 boxes of .22 shells, several hunting knives and a Weaver four-power scope were among the items missing. Two weeks ago thieves broke a lock on a Gay Johnson truck parked at Twin Arrow Hotel and took eight tires.

Beth Lansing and Joe Turner were crowned the 1967-68 Queen and King of Rangely High School at the annual junior-senior prom.

RHS senior Randy Massey, son of Mr. and Mrs. N.G. Massey, was presented the annual sportsmanship award at the Quarterback Club banquet Friday night.

The Rangely Times — 25 years ago

– RDA chairman Leon Brown had a phone call from Mayor Frances Green. She related that the council was very disappointed on the performance of the RDA. It comes down to a matter of communication but although Brown felt that the RDA has been open it has apparently not been conveyed to the council.

Rangely has another first! It has never been done before. This summer, unlike any other summer in this town, six churches will be combining their efforts in a Vacation Bible School program.

The Chevron Women’s Club had great success in their fundraising efforts during the S.P.E. Golf tournament.

Lance and Zaneta Brady of Rangely announce the birth of their son, Jordan Gage. He was born April 14, 1993 at 10:35 p.m. in Vernal, Utah. He weighed 7 lobs., 2 oz., and was 21 inches in length.
