Rangely gears up for Halloween

RANGELY | Mark your calendars for several spooky events.
– Haunted Pool Party—Thursday, Oct. 25, 7-9 p.m.
Take a dive into the spooky pool Thursday for the Haunted Pool Party. Snacks will be provided. While all ages are welcome, those six and under must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $7 each.
– Howl-A-Baloo—Friday, Oct. 26, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
All ages are encouraged to join the Recreation District as they trick-or-treat around town and play a variety of Halloween-themed games followed by a provided lunch, all in their costumes. The cost is $8 per person.
– Costume 5K—Saturday, Oct. 27, 9:30 a.m.
The Western Rio Blanco Parks and Recreation District is hosting a Costume 5K race Saturday. Runners and walkers will take off at Elks Park in their Halloween costumes. The cost to participate is $30.
– Skaryoke—Saturday, Oct. 27, 8 p.m.
Come show off your singing talent at the Halloween-themed karaoke event at the Main Street Pub. The $5 cover charge will benefit the Rangely Panther Booster Club.
– Dinner and Treats at Eagle Crest/RDH—Wednesday, Oct. 31
On Halloween families are welcome to check out Eagle Crest Assisted Living for free hot dogs, chips and soda. Residents will hand out candy to trick-or-treaters, all from 5:30 -7:30 p.m.
Hospital departments and the long term care facility will also be handing out candy at the same time.
– Trunk or Treats—Wednesday, Oct. 31
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—Dinner begins at 6 p.m., bring a soup or dessert to share. The trunk-or-treating begins at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public.
New Creation Church parking lot—From 6-8 p.m. the free event features free hot dogs, chili, popcorn, hot cocoa, coffee and apple cider in addition to the festive trunk-or-treat.
