– One of four senior girls named as contestants for Sweetheart Queen Contest will be crowned before the start of the Meeker-Glenwood Springs varsity basketball game. Contestants are Christy Pearce, Alice Martin, Mary K. Villa and Wendy Overton.

– Patrons of Meeker’s Premier Cleaners learned earlier this week of the sudden closing of that business. Sandy Taylor, who has owned the cleaners for the past two and one-half years, cited a number of factors that played a part in her decision.
– Local Cub Scouts filled the extension hall two weeks ago for their annual Pinewood Derby. Showing off their awards for Best Design that night were Justin Richardson and Deloy Cook.
