Rangely

RHS honors students of the month

The Rangely High School (RHS) students of the month for December are Alanna Wiley and Dylan LeBleu. Alanna is the daughter of Mike and Lindsey Wiley. Alanna plans to attend Utah State University next fall and major in agricultural business. She has been active in volleyball, basketball, soccer and cheerleading. Besides athletics, she has also been an active member of National Honor Society (NHS), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), student council, Rowdy Worm, and has just completed her year as president of her Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter. Alanna is a hard worker who always has a smile on her face and is willing to do whatever is asked of her. Dylan is the son of Jerry and Danielle LeBleu. He is a junior at RHS. He hopes to play college baseball and will study criminal justice. Dylan has been an active member of the basketball team, baseball team, NHS, and student council. He is currently the treasurer of STUCO and has put in many extra hours making sure that the funds are correct and the vending machines are always full. Dylan is a student that is always positive in all that he does and will go out of his way to help any teacher or student. Congratulations to the December students of the month.

The RHS students of the month for January are Alexis Wiley and Tytus Coombs. Alexis is the daughter of Mike and Lindsey Wiley. Alexis plans to go on a mission next year for her church. Once she returns, she is trying to decide between becoming a music teacher, or going to cosmetology school. Alexis has been involved in FBLA, FFA, student council, and is finishing this year as president of NHS. Alexis has been a student leader, and especially in the music department. She has been an integral part of the choir throughout her years in high school. On many Fridays and Saturdays during the last four years you have probably heard her singing the national anthem at many of our sporting events. Tytus Coombs is the son of Roger and Rosalie Coombs. Though Tytus is only a junior, he is already looking at colleges where he can play college athletics and study to become an athletic trainer. Tytus has been active in football, wrestling, track, baseball, as well as NHS. Tytus also has gone above and beyond within the community by becoming part of the Jr. Fire Department. Tytus brings an outstanding level of leadership to the school, his athletics, and anything he becomes part of. Young kids love seeing Tytus show up to the pep rallies at Parkview Elementary, and helping with wrestling tournaments. Congratulations to Alexis and Tytus on being the January students of the month.

The RHS students of the month for February are Paityn Myers and Justin Rusher. Paityn is the daughter of Ken and Jenine Myers. Paityn is currently enrolled at Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) in the dental hygiene program. Once she completes this, she is contemplating enrolling in the flight program at CNCC. Paityn is a very hard working student who excels in all that she does. When she graduates high school, she will only be three classes short of her associate’s degree. This demonstrates her drive for success. While excelling in her classes, she has also been active in volleyball, soccer, cheerleading, NHS, FBLA, student council, and is part of the 4-H shotgun shooting sports. Justin Rusher is the son of Wade and Lynn Rusher. Justin plans to attend CNCC where he will enter the flight program. In his high school career, he has been active in football, wrestling, FFA, and is active in 4-H shooting sports. Justin is always ready and willing to step up and help his fellow students. This became very apparent when his friend Tytus Coombs qualified for state wrestling this year. Justin stepped up and continued coming to practice, kept pushing and working Tytus, and was there step for step to help prepare him for his tournament. This passion for success is contagious. Congratulations to our February students of the month Paityn and Justin.
