MEEKER | White River Electric Association (WREA) is pleased to announce that the White River Solar program was well received by its membership and is fully leased. WREA’s application deadline has passed and is no longer accepting applications.
WREA combined the solar production at its Meeker Solar Garden and the Piceance Creek Solar Farm so members can lease blocks of solar power for $36/year with a $5 monthly solar production credit.
“The WREA Board set a clear goal that local renewable projects had to make both economic as well as electric sense and the White River Solar program met that goal,” said WREA General Manager Alan Michalewicz. The program provides members direct access to utility scale solar as well as a portion of the solar production is reserved to benefit WREA’s entire system.
WREA’s White River Solar is an annual program and members will have an opportunity to apply next year if they didn’t participate this year. Please call WREA or go to www.wrea.org for more information.
