  1. I remember investigating a crash on CR 7 (Strawberry Creek) years ago on icy/snowpack conditions. Speed limit is 50 mph and this lady lost control going into a curve with a 35 mph advisory sign. I determined her speed to be a minimum of 55 mph when she left the road and told her she would be cited for careless driving at which point she promptly went ballistic. After ranting for a few moments she made a statement that became indelibly imprinted in my memory banks when she said, “I may have been going too fast for the conditions but I certainly wasn’t being careless!”
