UPDATE MARCH 16, 2020: Pioneers Medical Center has been closed to ALL VISITORS.

RBC | In response to the coronavirus threat, both Rio Blanco County hospitals have implemented visitor restrictions as a precautionary measure to protect vulnerable patients and the elderly population, as well as healthcare providers and staff.

According to the Pioneers Medical Center website, the only entrances open to the public are at the main lobby from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the emergency entrance 24/7. Screening stations have been set up at each entrance, and all visitors and patients must complete the screening before entering the facility. Notify staff at the screening stations if you have a fever or cold/flu symptoms. They will also ask if you have recently traveled internationally or have had contact with another person confirmed to have coronavirus. Visitors who have cold or flu symptoms should not visit any area of PMC. Visitors under 19 are excluded from the facility, including the Walbridge Wing.

On its Facebook page, Rangely District Hospital shared similar procedural changes to protect patients and staff, including entry to the facility limited to the main door or the emergency room door and screening measures for visitors including questions about recent travel, contact with a person confirmed to have Coronavirus, and any symptoms including fever or signs of respiratory illness.

Additionally, spring health fairs at both locations have been postponed to a later date.
