RBC | Beginning Thursday, March 26 at 6 a.m., Colorado’s 5.7 million residents will be under a stay at home order, limiting all unnecessary travel and events outside the home until at least April 11.
Governor Jared Polis cited a large jump in both hospitalizations, which doubled today, and deaths (11 to 19 in one day), as well as info compiled from metadata which tracked the movement of residents as reasons for the order, after initially resisting the idea in favor of keeping the economy as insulated as possible from the effects of already-widespread COVID-19 related closures. Those to-date have included ski resorts, restaurants (except for delivery or take-out), bars, schools, spas, salons, massage parlors, tattoo shops and other ‘non-essential’ businesses.
