RBC | Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday a “Sirens of Appreciation” parade. Various government entities will bring out their law enforcement, EMS and fire vehicles and follow routes in both Meeker and Rangely with sirens sounding.
The parade will take place this Saturday at 3 p.m.
The purpose is to, “show our appreciation to all front line essential workers as well as offer encouragement to local residents,” according to the press release. The Sheriff’s Department also provided maps of the routes, which will weave around several residential areas and Meeker and Rangely hospitals.
This trend is taking place across the country, with emergency responders celebrating health care workers, birthdays and more. More recently, some of Rio Blanco County’s first responders gave the Easter Bunny a ride, as well.
The Sheriff’s Office encourages viewing of the parade with proper social distancing measures in place. “Please feel free to come out on your porches or in your yard or sidewalk to wave and show gratitude as the parade passes by,” they said.
