RBC | While surrounding counties have canceled or curtailed their county fair this year, Rio Blanco County’s fair is going forward with some adjustments.
Events kicked off last Saturday with the county 4-H shooting sports annual shoot-off.
The extension office is open for early open indoor check-in and registration (not project drop-off) today, Thursday, until 6 p.m.
“They can bring their list of all possible projects they want to enter and we help with the computer registration,” said RBC Extension Agent Linda Masters. Early registration is expected to speed up and smooth the project drop-off plan on Thursday, Aug. 6.
The horse show starts Friday morning at the fairgrounds.
The fashion revue judging at 1 p.m. (fashion revue at 5 p.m.) and cake decorating contest (4:30 p.m.), will be held at the Fairfield Center on Friday.
Team roping will close out the evening at 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds.
The horse show continues Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and includes the peewee and lead line.
The dog show will be held Monday, Aug. 3 at 9 a.m. at the 4-H building. 4-H general project check-in, judging and interview will be from 12-6 p.m. at the Exhibit Hall.
Livestock events get started Tuesday, Aug. 4 and continue through Saturday, Aug. 8
