- The White River rose 16 inches over two days this week. Flooding low meadow land and causing a culvert bridge to be washed out. Traffic between Rifle and Meeker is coming by way of Flag Creek Road.

- Meeker Drug was burglarized Friday morning after burglars pried the front door hinges. $110.39 worth of drugs, watches, watch bands, and portable radios were among the items stolen. This event came after an attempted burglary happened earlier this week on Meeker Drug.
- A one horse cutter or light sleigh and a Franklin heating stove were donated to the White River Museum by Ed Sprod, Esme Sprod Conrado, and Dick Sprod.

- The county’s child support specialist, Andrea Harmon, received the president’s award sculpture in recognition of her year as president of the Colorado Family Support Council.
- A small accident up County Road 8 occured when a driver of a semi reached to get a can of pop and then over corrected, causing him to go off the road. No injuries occurred.

- Cornerstone Laying Ceremonies took place on Sunday for the Rangely Public Library and the Municipal Building.
- Dick Lyttle was unanimously elected as president of the Rio Blanco County Pioneers Association.

- Rangely’s 50 year old jailhouse relic was moved to the Rangely Museum on Thursday. All that’s left of the building is two miniscule cells no more than 6ft. wide by 8ft. long.
- Recent thunderstorms sparked several fires east of Maybell. Ranging from one acre to seven acres, mainly on private land.
