November incidents down 10.3 percent from 2008

RBC | During November 2009, the Rio Blanco County Communications Center logged 819 incidents, down from November 2008 totals of 913, which is a 10.3 percent decrease in activity. However, the number of incidents for 2009 has increased 1.8 percent year-to-date.
The number of calls for service decreased for the sheriff’s office with 192 incidents in November 2009, down significantly from 282 in November 2008. Traffic stops increased from 380 in November 2008 to 414 in November 2009 for the sheriff’s office. The Meeker P.D. responded to 117 calls for service during November 2009, down from 195 in November 2008. Traffic stops for the Meeker P.D. increased significantly from 21 stops in November 2008 to 68 stops in November 2009.
Activity for both agencies included these most notable classifications: 482 traffic stops; 32 animal calls; 27 motorist assists; 21 accidents with property damage; 21 traffic arrests; 20 VIN inspections; 18 warrant arrests; 17 incidents assisting other agencies; 14 citizen assists; 14 suspicious incidents; 11 thefts; 10 incidents assisting the Colorado State Patrol; 10 civil situations; 10 traffic complaints; nine incidents assisting the Division of Wildlife; eight juvenile problems; five DUIs; four disturbances; four harassment cases; four narcotics cases; three domestic violence cases; three search and rescues; two criminal mischief cases; two restraining order violations; one hit and run accident; one fraud case; one kidnapping case and one wildlife violation.
During November 2009, the Rio Blanco County Detention Center housed a daily average of 15.57 inmates, with 14.5 males and 1.07 females, down minimally from a daily average of 15.97 inmates in October 2009. The number of bookings increased in November 2009 with 81 people processed in the detention center, up from 70 in October 2009. Of the 81 people processed in November 2009, 64 were jailed and 17 were booked and released. The number of meals served by the detention center increased in November 2009 with 1,171 meals, up from 1,072 meals in October 2009.
The Rangely Police Department reported their communications center logged 277 incidents during November 2009. Of those incidents, the most noteworthy classifications for the Rangely P.D. include: 102 traffic contacts; 30 animal calls; 18 arrests; 15 incidents assisting the Rio Blanco County Sheriff; 14 VIN inspections; 11 alarm calls; eight warrant arrests; seven disturbances; six damaged/stolen property cases; six sets of fingerprints taken; five suspicious incidents; four incidents assisting the Colorado State Patrol; three assaults; three DUI arrests; three incidents assisting the Division of Wildlife; three vandalism cases; two citizen assists; two narcotics cases and two welfare checks and two welfare checks.
