Dirt work continues at the Meeker Airport, where more than 1 million cubic feet of dirt will be moved during the widening of the runway project currently in Phase II. Part of the runway is currently open and will remain open until next April. GDA project representative Matt Wilder said they plan to install a 24-inch storm/sewer pipe across the runway by Thanksgiving, when they plan completion of Phase II. Wilder said work will continue in April at which time the airport runway will be closed until completion of the project, anticipated in Fall 2013.
