A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday in Meeker Town Park to mark the start of the Rio Blanco County-wide construction on a broadband Internet system for all parts of the county. Speaking to roughly 40 people present were, from left, county Economic Development Director Katelin Cook; county IT Coordinator Blake Mobley; County Commissioner Jeff Eskelson; Alex Thorquist of network operator colorado.fiber.community; and Meeker Town Administrator Scott Meszaros. All spoke of the importance of this project to Rio Blanco County and what it will mean for economic development and everyday life in the county.
