MEEKER I Many brothers from Meeker, related by blood and wrestling, spent the first weekend of their spring break wrestling at the Rocky Mountain Nationals held in Denver.
Cade Blunt won the gold medal in his bracket, and his brother, Connor, finished second.
Meeker’s three-time state champion T.J. Shelton finished second in the 170-pound bracket, and his brother, Jake, placed fifth, as did Tevin Pelloni.
The Pellonis made it a family affair, as brothers Jacob and Tristin also wrestled.
Kelton Turner finished fourth and he wrestled on the same mats as his older brother, Casey.
Kylloe and Ty Goedert also wrestled but did not place, nor did Sheridan Harvey, Hunter Garcia, Chase Rule, Robby Jensen, Devon Pontine and Tannen Kennedy, who is currently going to school in the Denver area.
T.J. Shelton was selected to wrestle on Team Colorado in the National High School team duals held in Indiana next week. This will be the third time Shelton has been chosen to represent his state in the 170-pound weight class.
