RANGELY I The Colorado Northwestern Community College Foundation will host its annual dinner dance March 29 at 6 p.m. in the Weiss Colorado Room on the Rangely campus.
The event raises funds for student scholarships, facility improvements, program enhancements and special projects depending on the school’s needs in a given year. More than $39,000 raised at last year’s dinner dance helped fund the college’s Rector Building remodel and expansion. The use of this year’s funds will be determined by an executive committee Friday.
“For decades now, this has been the biggest opportunity for the CNCC Foundation, the college and the public to come together and support the students in one way or another,” CNCC President Russell George said. “It’s a time when we have some fun and bring together funds we can then use for scholarships or things on campus we might not otherwise have money allocated for.”
Live and silent auctions will accompany the event, with Colorado Northwestern Aero Club students raising funds for an upcoming trip to nationals by offering work hours for purchase.
The dinner dance features musician Shae Bramer and will recognize the Foundation’s Supporter of the Year award recipient. Caterer Sodexo will provide appetizers, a prime rib or chicken dinner and dessert, with beer or wine available for purchase.
Tickets are $35 each or $200 for a table of six and can be purchased at the Rangely recreation center, Sweetbriar Gifts, First National Bank of the Rockies, the Rangely Liquor Store or by contacting Amy Deese at 675-3219 or Becky Dubbert at 675-3301 in Rangely.
In Meeker, tickets can be obtained from Iris Franklin on CNCC’s Meeker campus at 878-5227.
