Quarterly gathering of the Rio Blanco County Historical Society April 13
MEEKER |The next membership meeting of the Rio Blanco County Historical Society Inc. will be held at the Old West Heritage Culture Center on April 13 at noon. Ms. Casey will bring her students to share their research projects with us. We are meeting a little earlier than usual so that those of you who want to attend the Mason’s event can go. We will be serving veggies, cheese, chips, dips, and such. You can bring something light to share if you want, but it is not required.

Local Working Group Meeting April 23
MEEKER | Wednesday, April 23, 6-8 p.m. (food and beverages included), at the Fire Protection District (240 7th St.). Hosted by the White River and Douglas Creek Conservation Districts, we are collecting feedback from the local community to gain insight into key local natural resource concerns. This information will help identify and develop conservation projects in partnership with local producers. Natural resource concerns range from water quality, irrigation, forest health, streambank restoration, and wildlife to rangeland health and more. Funding is available to support eligible projects. Free Fire Preparedness Bootcamp for Landowners May 10

Celebrate National Fire Awareness Month by joining us for an outdoor workshop in collaboration with our partners. Workshop stations will include: creating defensible space, chainsaw 101 safety, stacking for chipping, slash management, how to harden your home and a reflective 911 address sign making station.
