Buy one, get one free book fair TONIGHT

MEEKER | Buy One, Get One Free Book Fair at Meeker Elementary School tonight (Thursday, April 17) from 4-7 p.m.

Stations of the Cross on Friday, April 18

MEEKER | The Meeker United Methodist Church is inviting our community to celebrate the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, April 18, at noon on the courthouse lawn. Join us for this special time of prayer and reflection as we remember Christ’s suffering and death. 

Father Daughter Ball April 18

MEEKER | Get your tickets for ERBM Recreation & Park District’s annual Father Daughter Ball, set for Friday, April 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fairfield Center. $5/person (parent/caregiver participation required). Register at erbmrec.com/ball

Local Working Group Meeting April 23

MEEKER | Wednesday, April 23, 6-8 p.m. (food and beverages included), at the Fire Protection District (240 7th St.). Hosted by the White River and Douglas Creek Conservation Districts, we are collecting feedback from the local community to gain insight into key local natural resource concerns. This information will help identify and develop conservation projects in partnership with local producers. Natural resource concerns range from water quality, irrigation, forest health, streambank restoration, and wildlife to rangeland health and more. Funding is available to support eligible projects. Jim Harmon Memorial Muzzleloader Shoot April 26

Meeker | The Meeker Sportsman’s Club is hosting the annual Jim Harmon Memorial Muzzleloader Shoot. Join us at the MSC range on April 26. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. – $10 entry fee. Come work on the trails May 2-4

MEEKER | MAMBA, the BLM and ERBM Recreation and Park District will be doing a volunteer work weekend on the mornings of May 2,3,4. Come join the crew and help get the trails cleaned up and ready for a long summer of adventure. The BLM and ERBM will have extra tools. Some drinks and snacks will be provided. Bring your backpack and work gloves and meet at the Hill Street Ute Park trail entrance at 8 a.m. 

Free Fire Preparedness Bootcamp for Landowners May 10

MEEKER | Saturday, May 10, 10-2 p.m. (lunch included) the CR 8 campgrounds (mile marker 24). Celebrate National Fire Awareness Month by joining us for an outdoor workshop in collaboration with our partners. Workshop stations will include: creating defensible space, chainsaw 101 safety, stacking for chipping, slash management, how to harden your home and a reflective 911 address sign making station. Library Book Club May 12

MEEKER | The Meeker Public Library Book Club is excited to announce our next read: “The Lonely Hearts Book Club” by Lucy Gilmore. We will be meeting at the Meeker Public Library on Monday, May 12, at 1 p.m. to discuss the book. If you’d like to participate or read the book on your own, extra copies are available to check out at the library.
