Help the homeless or those less fortunate this month
MEEKER | Looking for blankets, sleeping bags, coats, shoes, boots, hats and gloves for all ages, tarps or tents, hygiene products for women and men, sanitary products for women (no tampons), chapsticks, hand warmers, or anything to keep people warm during this cold season and to bless someone who may not be able to keep warm or have a warm place to sleep. Drop off items through December at Western Slope In-Home Care (1033 Market St.) or Pioneers Medical Center (100 Pioneers Medical Center Dr.) or reach out to Faith at 970-942-3216.
Celebrate New Year’s with Meeker Skijor
MEEKER | Plan to attend Meeker Skijor’s New Year’s Eve dance and live music event at the 4-H Building Dec. 31 at 9 p.m. $10 cover charge, 12 and under free. Enjoy the music of Joey Rowland. The 5th annual Skijor races are planned for Jan. 4 and 5.
Library Book Club
MEEKER | The Meeker Public Library book club is reading An Unfinished Love Story by Doris Kearns Goodwin. We will meet to discuss the book at the Meeker Public Library on Monday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. Extra copies are available for check out at the library if you would like to join in the fun. New members are always welcome!
