Barone STEM Games Carnival May 15
MEEKER | Join Barone Middle School on Thursday, May 15 from 4:15-5:30 p.m. for the 2025 STEM Games Carnival (Bob Tucker Drive). Fun for the whole family with games, prizes (50¢ per game) and fun! All proceeds go to supporting the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program.
Rio Blanco Stockgrowers Association Annual Banquet May 17
MEEKER | Mark your calendars for the Rio Blanco Stockgrowers on Saturday, May 17 at the 4-H Community Center (not the Fairfield!). Social hour starts at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. Tickets $60/ea and will be available at select businesses (stay tuned for locations and additional pricing for Casino Night) Prime rib dinner (by Meeker Cafe), a dessert dash, poker games (non-cash prizes available for the top three winners), live and silent auctions, and a FFA Labor Auction all in support of the Rio Blanco Stockgrowers Association and Meeker FFA Chapter. Free concert at The TANK this Saturday
RANGELY | Composer and pianist Holly McMahon is the B2 Resident Artist at The TANK in May, arriving on the 13th and leaving on the 18th. A CU Boulder undergraduate in music composition, Holly will record and perform a set of pieces written for upright bass, field recordings, and found forest percussion. Holly’s pieces will range in style and celebrate various under-appreciated species, such as lichen, bacteria found in soil, and fungi that aid in decomposition. The music explore the concept of communication between these forest-dwelling microorganisms, which are crucial to the health of Colorado ecosystems. Coming to Rangely with Holly will be double bassist Asher Dobrin, who is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in music composition and chamber music performance at the University of Colorado, Boulder. This free concert comes at the close of her residency and presents the work Holly and Asher create at The TANK.

Community Hike, June 1
MEEKER | Meeker United Methodist Church is sponsoring a community hiking and gathering for all ages at Sanderson Park (1091 Sanderson Rd.) on June 1 at noon. There will be a short hike and a longer hike option on the trails which start at the park. For those who don’t wish to hike, just come by to visit. Let’s join together to spend time outdoors in this beautiful setting God has blessed us with.

We will meet to discuss the book at the Meeker Public Library on Monday, June 16, at 1 p.m. Extra copies are available for check out at the library if you would like to join in the fun.
