MEEKER | The Meeker Recreation Center Pool will be closed Monday, Oct. 13 through Friday, Oct. 17 for maintenance. Normal hours are scheduled to resume Saturday, Oct. 18. Please call 970-878-3403 to check pool status prior to your visit.

Writers’ Conference in Steamboat Oct. 18
STEAMBOAT | The Steamboat Springs Writers Group is holding its 42nd annual Writers’ Conference on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Depot Art Center (1001 13th St., Steamboat Springs). The conference is $125 and includes breakfast and lunch. There will be a meet and greet with conference speakers Mark Obmascik and Martin J. Smith on Friday, Oct. 17. Babysitter Training Course Nov. 14-15
MEEKER | Learn how to provide quality care to children of all ages and obtain your Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications. This American Red Cross class will be taught Friday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.$75 each for certification and Training Handbook, ages 12+. Candy donations sought for Walbridge Wing trick-or-treaters
MEEKER | The Walbridge Wing at Pioneers Medical Center is seeking candy donations for residents to hand out to trick-or-treaters on Halloween. If you can donate a bag of treats, please drop it off at 100 Pioneer Medical Center Dr., in Meeker.
