Give feedback on Circle Park project

Wolf plan meeting Feb. 4

MEEKER | Livestock producers and other stakeholders concerned about the current wolf plan can attend an in-person meeting Saturday, Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Meeker Firehouse, 240 Seventh St, or online at https://meet.google.com/yjq-czru-dru to hear a summary of the current plan for reintroducing wolves, ask questions of speakers Lee Owens, Colorado Department of Agriculture; Callie Hendrickson, White River and Douglas Creek Conservation Districts; and Eric Odell, Species Conservation Program Manager; and submit effective comments to make your voices heard. Bring your computer prepared to submit comments.

RBC Democrats meeting Feb. 4

MEEKER | There will be a reorganization meeting for the RBC Democrats organization. The purpose of the meeting is to elect officers and precinct organizers. It will be Saturday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m., at the Meeker Library back meeting room. The meeting will be about 45 minutes. 

Pickleball fans: 2023 schedule

MEEKER | Mondays 6-8 p.m. and Wednesdays 5:30-8 p.m. (5:30-6 p.m. beginners only, 6-8 p.m. open play). This winter we play at the RBC 4-H Building. Pickleballs and paddles are available so just show up and learn and play the fastest growing sport in America. No fees. Questions? Contact: Jim Joy at 970-270-3928.

Cowboy Youth Baseball sign-ups

MEEKER | Cowboys Youth Baseball 2023 signups for ages 11-14 will be Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the Meeker Elementary School cafeteria. For more information visit Cowboys Youth Baseball Facebook page or www.cowboysyouthbaseball.weebly.com.

Free legal clinic

MEEKER | Contact your Meeker Library at 970-878-5911 to be added to the sign-up sheet for the Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 2-5 p.m. legal clinic. All free, space is limited.  

Empty Bowls Feb. 9

MEEKER | Meeker High School’s Empty Bowls fundraiser returns Thursday, Feb. 9 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the MHS Lobby before the Little Snake River/Meeker basketball games. Purchase a bowl with soup, salad and bread prepared by the MHS Culinary Students and FCCLA. All proceeds go to PMC Meals on Wheels and all bowls are handmade by the MHS Art Department. February book club

MEEKER | The book club will be reading “The Professor and the Madman” by Simon Winchester. We will discuss the book on Monday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m. All are welcome to join in the fun.

Community dinner

MEEKER | Starting in 2023, we are going to be serving community dinners once a month (to start with) at the Meeker Veterans Community Center (a.k.a. V.F.W. Post 5843). The dinners will be on the third Thursday of the month and will be served at 290 4th St. from 5:30-6:30  p.m. The dinners are free to anyone and a good place to visit and meet new friends. The United Methodist Church will be hosting the dinner on Feb. 16, 2023. Eventually, we would like to have different local organizations host the dinners for our community. Contact Vicki Crawford at 970-756-5023 if interested in hosting a community dinner.

Range Call meeting Feb. 22

MEEKER | The next meeting of the Range Call committee will be held in the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds kitchen at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22.
