Kari Jo Stevens, dance instructor for the ERBM Recreation and Park District, along with chaperones Edy George and Michelle Smith, traveled with nine dance team members to Tampa, Fla., for performances during the pregame and the halftime shows at the Outback Bowl, which featured the South Carolina Gamecocks vs. the Michigan Wolverines. “The trip went really well,” Stevens said. “I’m proud of all the girls for knowing the dance, being ready to perform and getting positioned in the front because of a lot of practice.” Selena Steele, Nicole Hilkey, Amanda Kendall, Alexis Gutierrez, Taylor Ahrens, Mariah Jensen, Jordan Smith, Morgan Robb and Kristen Goff headed south on Dec. 28, 2012, to perform on New Year’s Day in front of a national audience. Stevens said the dancers also visited Busch Gardens, Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and Clearwater Beach during their stay.
