CM Bewley who had a foot badly crushed a few weeks ago when a large chunk of ice fell on it, is able to be about again, but it will be a couple more weeks before he will be able to resume his usual activities.
The Meeker Hotel is filled to capacity these days.
Messrs. Link Tagert and James Sheridan left last Wednesday on a trip through the Vernal country. They went out by way of Grand Junction and over the new Douglas Creek road.

Mrs. Edith Hilkey returned Wednesday of last week from a month’s visit in Alaska and Washington. Mrs. Hilkey who had accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Alfred George on their return trip to their home in North Pole, Alaska, remained with the Georges for a week’s visit. She then flew to Seattle & visited in Bremerton with her sister, Mrs. Fred Harrell and with her sister, Mrs. Robert Stiles who joined them from the state of New York.
Jack A. Turner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Turner, was recently selected to full membership to the University of Oklahoma’s Society of Sigma Xi.

The Meeker town council on April 20 voted unanimously to authorize the mayor to sign the sales agreement to purchase the Northern Building at 345 Market St from Bruce and Jackie Barnum for $485,000.
Meeker Elementary School principal Rich Coulter was in a merry mood while members of his Patrol organization loaded crushed aluminum cans into plastic bags during the group’s semi-annual can drive over the weekend.
Meeker’s Kay Bivens was a featured speaker at the annual Friendship Tea hosted by the Meeker Methodist Women at the church in Meeker.

The Rangely Lions Club did not hold their annual broom sale on April 20th because of inclement weather. They have tentatively rescheduled the broom sale for Saturday, May 4th.
Phyllis Hutchins spent several days last week in Utah with her sister and shopping.
The Rev. Robert M. Fields came to St. Timothy’s Rangely and held his first services as vicar on April 25.

Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep are now roaming the Holy Cross Wilderness Area for the first time in 30 years following the recent release of Fifteen by Colorado Division of Wildlife biologists.
The Lady Panthers’ team effort at the Meeker Invitational track meet led them to 112 points and a second place trophy. Moffat County was first with 116.5 points.
CNCC dental hygiene students performed oral cancer screenings at the 9 Health Fair on April 10.
