There has been quite a lot of sickness among the school children lately. It is of slight consequence, however, being in the nature of colds and coughing.
Another boarding and lodging house for Meeker was informally thrown open this week. It is located a block south of the Baer building, and H.E. Phelps & Son are the proprietors.
The ground-hog missed his calculations by about four weeks. The past eight days have been very “springy.”

Mrs. Frank Sheridan was hostess to the HH Bridge Club this week. Last Tuesday’s play terminates the meetings of the club, until after Easter.
James Sheridan comes back from Utah with what he calls the “Mormon Flu.” Utah must be as dry as Colorado or something is wrong with our friend James.
It looks as if the ground hog knew his “stuff.” This past week has been the most disagreeable weather yet experienced this winter.

Some sharp eyes, good police work, and a lot of luck figured heavily last week in the return of the Meeker Herald’s press car, six days after it had been stolen.
Mrs. Aileen Theos returned Sunday from Vail where for the past week she assisted her nieces who own and manage the Kostas Taverna, a Greek restaurant in Vail.
Winding up the regular league season this past weekend, Meeker’s varsity basketball girls wrapped up their claim to the No. 1 team in the northern division of the NWL.

The residents of Rangely will have the rare privilege of hearing the Adams State College a cappella choir on March 20, at 7:30 p.m.
Most of the Dinosaur School students were back in school Monday after last week’s heavy absenteeism because of the flu.
The CNCC women won their last basketball home game of the season against the College of Eastern Utah of Price with a score of 44 to 41.

Karen Benner, Meeker school district superintendent, informed board members Monday night that the high school had been broken into sometime after midnight on Friday.
Meeker’s third annual Cowboy Poet Gathering will be held on this Saturday, February 24 in the Meeker High School Auditorium.
The smallest potty in Rio Blanco County is twelve inches high and is in the bathroom at Giant Step Preschool in Rangely, Colorado.
