A welcome change in the weather set in Tuesday when fine sunshiny spring weather set in and is still on top. The sun is now getting in telling licks and will continue to get more husky as the days roll by.
Mr. and Mrs. James Amick of Oak Ridge were midweek visitors to the city.
A total eclipse of the sun is booked for today.

Vicki Hallmark was recipient of a bouquet of 19 red roses and dinner out in a Denver restaurant Tuesday of last week, compliments of the Colorado State Fair Board. The occasion was Vicki’s 19th birthday, and when one reigns as State Fair Queen, such honors are bestowed upon one. Vicki is the daughter of Mrs. J.O. Weiland.
Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Shults and family enjoyed the past weekend in Loveland visiting with Mrs. Shults’ sister, Kathy Branch and husband David.
Meeker shut out Aspen, 61-0, after already wrestling Vernal here, last Friday night.

On Saturday evening a nice break from the winter blahs was at the Fairfield Center. Dean Parr as toastmaster opened up the evening with a giant welcome and a few good jokes before a tasty dinner and dessert prepared by the Utopia Club.
The Pioneers Hospital board of trustees on Jan. 25 voted to continue construction until the entire expansion and remodeling project is complete.
The Cowboys took six wrestlers to the Grand Junction Tournament last Saturday, and all six came home with medals, three golds, a silver, and two bronze. The Cowboys finished third as a team behind runner-up Fruita and champion Grand Junction.

Retail sales in Rangely increased 38.3% during the third quarter to $2,588,000 compared to the same period a year ago, according to the University of Colorado Business Research Division.
Herb Snyder, of Mr. “S” clothing, has been selected as the winner for “February Merchant of the Month.”
R.M. Collins of Modesa, Calif., died of a heart attack this week. An employee of Chevron Oil Company here from 1945 to 1965, he retired and moved to Fort Collins.

On January 31, Jerry LeBleu retired from Moon Lake Electric after 26 years of service.
Rangely High School students Holly Ercanbrack and Daniel Winterholter have been chosen to perform in the Top of the Nation Honor Band at Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. The event runs February 10 through 12.
RHS Student Council has noticed those winter blues have attacked the student body. To help raise the spirit in the school and the community, the council has declared this week Panther Pride Week.
