The “old timers” all declare that the past week was the hottest June weather for these parts within their recollection.
Telephone poles are set into town and ready for the wire to be strung. The work of stringing the wife will be completed in a few days.
L.N. Boner, who lately bought the John Robertson ranch in Powell Park, has taken possession of that fine piece of property. Mr. Boner will run a goodly sized bunch of cattle.

One thing bootleggers never have to worry about–a buyer’s strike.
The old song “Meeker’s going to have a railroad soon” came true this week when a carnival company arrived with a miniature outfit which they set up in the town park.
Tom Offerle who has been attending business college in Pueblo is home to spend the summer with his folks in Buford.

June Graham of Meeker was chosen as the 1975 Range Call Parade Marshal.
In renewing their subscription, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Knight of Pueblo commented that although they like the climate there, they miss their Meeker friends.
Nick Theos of Meeker was recognized in the May Issue of Western Livestock Journal for his many contributions to the sheep industry.

The Meeker Board of Education on June 27 adopted a fiscal year 2001 budget of $4,485 million.
On June 26 the Rio Blanco County Fair and fairbook for the year 2000 was dedicated to Joe and Donna Collins for their many years of service to the county.
The Meeker Makos held their annual Meeker Makos Splash meet last Saturday, June 24 at the Meeker Municipal Pool. The well-organized meet was a huge success, running smoothly and quickly, with 257 athletes from all over Western Colorado.

Rangely retail sales for the first quarter of 1975 showed a 7.6% increase over the same period in 1974, according to the Business Research Division of the University of Colorado.
In Dinosaur, there was a Vacation Bible School held at George Megee’s home this past week. Bible students from Texas taught the classes for the younger set.
The “Slush Pit” Gold Club is having a round robin tournament starting Tuesday, July 8.
