Mrs. Lockwood and daughter, Miss Bloomfield and Mr. __ had a good scare while crossing the Wilber ford last Sunday. The water was quite high and their team balked when about a quarter of the distance was made, and their appeal for help was responded to by two fishermen who were not only fishing out of season, but also breaking the Sabbath.

In olden times it was believed that the seat of the soul was the stomach, most likely for the reason that a man is never so completely used up as when his stomach is out of order.

Janice Oldland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Oldland of Littoleton, assumed her duties as an intern pharmacist Tuesday morning at the Meeker Drug Store, owned and managed by Robert Blagg.
“A new era lies ahead. You are young, healthy and live in the greatest country in the world. Make the most of it.” So spoke Dr. Duane Vandenbusche to the 49 graduating MHS seniors at last Wednesday’s commencement exercises for the Class of 1973.

Mike Bartlett, the town librarian, surprised the Fairfield Center steering committee by revealing that the library board wants to take over the suite of meeting rooms in the back of the Fairfield Center.

This year’s royalty for the Rangely Days Rodeo are Miss Kathy Hill, first attendant; Miss Kathy Caldwell, Queen; and Miss Billie Jean Bruckner, second attendant.
Rocky Mountain Archery Manufacturing Company presented the high bid in the amount of $15,500 for the old city hall property. Donald Collier and James Pickering, representing the company, stated that they hoped to begin the manufacturing of archery bows within the next 30 days.
