Strawberries are becoming more plentiful on the market. ‘Tisn’t like eating money now, as it was a few weeks ago.
Almost every day one or more outfits are passing through town, the objective point being either Battle Lake or Saratoga. Meeker is already represented at both places.

Miss Ruth Gourley left first of the week for Gunnison where she will attend the summer school at the Teacher’s college.
Wednesday was hot and windy while the remainder of the week has been cloudy and cold.

Donald F. McKee, Chief of Police at Skagway, Alaska, will be a member of the graduation class at exercises of the FBI National Academy on Thursday, June 19 at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Mrs. George Wear attended the Glenwood Springs High School Commencement program Friday evening with her grandson, George Horner Wear.
The Piceance 4-H Clubs spent a day walking 45 miles along Piceance Creek picking up trash and hauling it to the proper dump sites.

Lulu SIzemore, Marjorie Pederson, Virginia Duff, and Lillian Sweeney celebrated birthdays at the Walbridge Wing on June 9. Two clowns from the Lions Club Circus arrived and put on quite a demonstration with their different acts.
Meeker High School’s Class of 1960 held their 40th class reunion at the Oldtimers on June 3, and on the 4th, they had a picnic at Vicky and Wayne Johnson’s.
The Meeker Makos swim team has already been hard at work.

Rangely Elks Lodge No. 1907 won first place in this year’s Rangely Days Rodeo parade as the Top Float.
Championship winners in the Big Sky Open last weekend were Bill Mills of Phoenix taking a $330 purse for first, Ivan Winter of Moab, Utah, took second for $180, and Jon Willig of Grand Junction third for $120.
Many Dinosaur residents attended the carnival in Rangely last weekend.

On Tuesday, May 23, Phi Theta Kappa honored the eighth graders who had at least a 2.5 Grade Point Average at their awards assembly.
Culpepper & Merriweather Circus, America’s favorite old-fashioned Big Top circus, is coming to town.
Elder Jacob Dean White has accepted a call to serve in the Rapid City, South Dakota mission, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Rangely High School in 1999.
