Memorial weekend started off with a fire down by the river just east of the 10th Street Bridge about 5 p.m. Friday. Some brush ignited along the river bank near the swimming hole on the north side of the river. Authorities are still investigating the cause but suspect kids may have started the fire. Several boys came running to the scene and were visibly upset. They said it was their fort and were sure that other kids had set the fire as revenge.
