Clear weather has permitted the eclipse to be visible here early last Monday morning.
Meeker will present more attractions on the coming Fourth than any other town on the western slope.
For Meeker’s celebration, there will be a band here of twenty-two pieces, all the musicians being young ladies. This organization hails from Grand Junction and will be a drawing card.

Boyd Walbridge returned home Monday after a business trip to the Eastern Slope. His mother, who went to Denver for an operation, is feeling fine.
Several cars of Meeker folks attended the ball game at Rifle last Sunday and report it one of the best they have seen for some time.
Miss Maude M. Meeker, niece of Nathan C. Meeker, founder of Greeley, was married in New York City to Dr. A. Bertram Gilliland.

Only a short four weeks away, Meeker’s super-dooper Range Call celebration is fast approaching. The 90th annual celebration will run two days again this year, July 3rd and 4th.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shuler of Phillips, S.D. and daughter Judy, age 19 moved to Meeker last week and have taken over the management of the Space Station located at 1085 Market St.
Paul Woolsey and his wife Janet of Eljebel have moved to Meeker and are opening a new sporting goods business called Sportsman’s Rendezvous.

The Town Council met in the new Town Hall building on 345 Market St. for the first time on June 6. Good news: you can hear everyone clearly, even the mayor!
A Bull Brawl was held at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds last Friday and Saturday. Only one bull rider was able to stay on for the full eight seconds!
Garrett T. Morris, the son of Twila and Gerald Morris of Meeker graduated from the Diesel Technology Program at Wyoming Technical Institute on March 24, 2000. Garrett was chosen as the outstanding graduate of his program.

Rangely High School co-valedictorian Rebecca White performed the song “I will remember you” for her classmates at the May 21 graduation ceremony.
Patrick Tolley, a student at Rangely High School, will travel to our nation’s capital as a participant in the Presidential Classroom’s Science, Technology, and Public Policy Program, a leading civic education program.
