The festive woodtick is getting in his work on mankind as well as livestock. 

Tomorrow is the day we Irish celebrate, and if you should happen to see anything green in the course of the day, you want to pay due respect to it. 

Nothing has been heard for a long time about the state bridge to be put across White river some ten miles below Meeker, but it is going to be built and will be completed before the high water comes, too.

It is reported that work on the State Highway west of town will start next week if weather conditions remain settled.

The ground hog missed his dope a little this year as Spring has arrived before his six weeks were up. 

Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Oldland entertained at dinner party on Sunday in honor of Mr. Oldland’s and Master John’s birthdays.

Mesa College students are completing their finals this week and are expected home for the school’s week of vacation. 

Mr. and Mrs. Vic Mobley were hosts to Mrs. Dewayne Marriam’s birthday party on Friday evening. 

Playing their best game of the year, Meeker’s Cowgirls dropped a 52-44 contest to Palisade Saturday night which ended their bid for a State playoff berth.

RANGELY TIMES ~ 50 years ago

Smoke rolled high last Wednesday as the Rangely Volunteer Fire Department fights the fire that leveled the Colo. Well Service building west of Rangely. Little could be saved as the building was enveloped in flames in minutes after the blaze started.

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jones, long time residents of Rangely, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, March 6th. On the same day, Sam celebrated his 73rd birthday.

The Bookmobile will be in Dinosaur on Thursday, March 25. Because there is no one at school, it will be at Town Hall.

RIO BLANCO HERALD TIMES ~ 25 years ago

Meeker High School sophomore Trent Randall was recently chosen to represent Colorado in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Duals in Battle Creek, Michigan, April 5-8. 

After finishing second in their first two tournaments, the Barone Middle School wrestlers won the SOROCO tournament last Saturday in Oak Creek.

The Rangely pee-wee wrestlers did pretty well at both the Craig tournament and at the Little Warrior Classic in Grand Junction according to coaches Mike Inderlied and Mike Cushman.
