Mrs. Dunn, whose serious illness was reported in last week’s Herald, was so far recovered this week as to be able to go to Victor, Co., with her son Thomas.
Owing to causes too numerous to mention, St. Patrick’s Day celebration was a failure this year.
Our fine weather met with a check yesterday, and it is now colder and cloudy.

Last Saturday was warm enough to bring the blue bottle flies out.
Matt Villa was among the Strawberry farmers in town last Saturday.
The county oratorical and spelling contests will be held at the Rio Blanco County High School building April 4 at 2:30 o’clock. Everybody is invited to attend the contests.

Mother Nature put a damper on the planned open house in honor of Bill Hallenbaugh’s 80th birthday party Saturday, as a heavy snow storm with strong winds moved into Meeker about 3:00 P.M.
Meeker’s Girl Scout Troops still have some of those delicious Girl Scout cookies to sell. Any one desiring to make a purchase please call Bette Carnahan.
Roger Clare of Meeker broke the world record of crawling in the snow, crawling for 1 ½ miles over the course of two hours. Roger’s comment after the cold ordeal was “I’m never going to complain about walking again.”

Last Saturday, March 25, over 300 Pee Wee wrestlers from around the area competed in a tournament hosted by the little Cowboys in the high school gym. Over 60 local kids participated.
Elder Samuel S. Dare of Meeker is serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints in Chile, Santiago East Mission.

Nichols Store has been selected by the Board of Directors by the Rangely Area Chamber of Commerce as the winner for April Merchant of the Month.
The Colorado Division of Wildlife is in the process of identifying and designating significant wildlife habitats to be protected under the provisions of House Bill 1041.
John Baker won the first round of Rangely Lions Club’s Bowl for the Blind fundraising event.

Many trees in town are getting
trimmed this spring because they haven’t been pruned in quite a while, and that creates a danger from dead limbs falling from the trees.
On Saturday, March 18, thirty-four young men attended the Fruita Wrestling Tournament. Eighteen local participants brought home medals.
The Town of Rangely is in search for a new Town Attorney.
