A lone blue-bottle fly made its appearance in this office one day this week, buzzed the force occasionally to let them know that he was here, and then lit out–presumably for Craig. There were no brands on him.

Bicycles were out in force this week, young lady riders predominating.

There were several flurries of snow in the early part of the week, but the warm atmosphere soon settled the snow each time. The roads are getting fine.

Tourists left 12 million dollars in Colorado last year.

Monday produced more snow and with it regular March blizzards. We have been having the roughest weather of the winter this month.

Frank Delaney came over from Glenwood Wednesday to attend to some legal matters, Frank reports Glenwood just about as dull as Meeker.

Mr. and Mrs. Alex Carstens and Meredith returned Friday from Delta where they had enjoyed a few days visit with their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gould. 

Up until Tuesday of this week, Meeker was enjoying its nicest winter in quite some time. Taking advantage of the 50 degree temperatures and sunshine last Friday were Stanley Crawford and Tammy Frazier, sixth graders at the elementary school.

Funds in the amount of $750 have been approved by the Colorado Centennial-Bicentennial Commission for Rangely according to information received by Leonard Smith, local Bicentennial chairman. 

The CNCC Spartans came alive and played their best game of the season last Saturday in Gunnison beating Western State 51 to 48.

Mitch and Meg Bettis have purchased the Rio Blanco Herald Times from Kerry and Joy Murdock. 

The seventh and eighth grade wrestlers from Barone Middle School opened their season last Saturday in Craig with a dual meet tournament.

The Meeker High School wrestling team held their annual banquet last Thursday night at Richards Hall.
