- The Meeker United Methodist Church donated 6,800 Betty Crocker Coupons towards a kidney transplant for a 4.5 year old in California.
- Kathy Garcia of Meeker high school has been chosen by the American Legion Auxiliary, Nicholas Goeder No. 74, to attend Girls State.
- Terry Treat and George Back were crowned as Prom King and Queen at Meeker High School’s Junior-Senior prom.

- Watt’s Ranch Market celebrated the grand opening of its newly expanded and remodeled store. A pharmacy was added to the store with an upgraded parking lot, a mini bakery, and a deli still in the cards.
- The indoor arena was host to a “spook clinic” this last week as a way of desensitizing horses. Teeter-totters, guns, firecrackers, bags of empty beer cans, and mounds of miscellaneous garbage were some of the obstacles the horses had to get past.

- The Rangely swimming pool will be open for one day this weekend for students to get their swim in before school ends.
- Soprano Wanda Bautts and Pianist Al Rose will be performing at the Rangely High School Auditorium next monday for the community to come and watch. The event is sponsored by the Rangely College and Student Affairs Committee.

- The Rangely Police Department sponsored this year’s bike rally. After a short inspection, registration, and instruction, new bikes and equipment were given out as awards.
- Janis Reams Hudson is set to host a book signing at this year’s SeptemberFest, with all proceeds going to the Rangely Public Library. Hudson is a former resident turned romance book author.
