Our schools will close for the term next Friday the 25th. 

We need a new race track and baseball grounds. Will our enterprising citizens get together on this proposition?

More brick buildings are in contemplation by some of our residents. As proof of it another kiln of 100,000 bricks was started this week. M.O. Walden is in charge.

The most cheerful givers are not always the most lavish in giving.

Paul Dunn was down from Marvine last Saturday and reports that work on the new “101 Club” Resort has already started and will pushed as fast as possible.

Fishing season opens Monday and we suppose that town will be as dead that day, as everybody will be out with their fish pole trying to catch one of those nice “ten pounders.”

Mrs. Mary Hansen of Meeker was notified by her publisher last week that “A Broken Post in Every Fence” has been selected to be exhibited in Frankfurt, Germany this fall.

“Push with a Purpose” was the Rev. Elmo Cook’s sermon topic at the Class of ‘75’s Baccalaureate Service held Sunday evening, May 18, in the Meeker High School auditorium.

Michelle Barone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Barone of Meeker, was chosen as the 4-H Dress Revenue Champion at the style show held last Saturday in conjunction with Fairfield Day.

Meeker polygrapher Gene Parker was approached to administer polygraph tests to John and Patricia Ramsey.

CDOT announced today that two 10-minute traffic delays and lower speed limits can be expected beginning May 30 along a project to rebuild three miles of State Hwy. 13 southwest of Meeker.

VFW held a benefit dart tournament May 20 & 21. They raised $232.00 for the Walbridge Wing for activity equipment.

Dr. Robert J. May, former Rangely dentist and county judge, has been elected to be honored as Grand Marshall in this Year’s Rangely Rodeo Days Parade.

Commencement exercises for 35 Rangely High School graduates will be held Friday, May 23 at the high school auditorium at 8 p.m.

An important census is being made of the people now living in Rangely or near the town and the cooperation of the public is encouraged so that an accurate survey can be made for energy-related development impact.

The CNCC Women’s Basketball Team signed two outstanding Colorado Players recently: 6’0 Lauryn Cutter from Florence High School and 5’8 Jennifer Gallegos from Highlands Ranch High School.

Fort Lewis College student LeAnn Brubaker, a theater major from Rangely has been named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2000 Trimester.

Fifty-two RMS seventh graders were honored by Trooper Dave last week during G.R.E.A.T. graduation, where Trooper Dave educated students on gang resistance.
