A down-the-river lady nearly skinned ye editor alive the other day because we failed to announce the arrival of an addition to her family which happened some time ago. We acknowledged our fault in not having a representative in the ante-chamber awaiting the accouchement and a fleet-mounted courier to convey the intelligence to our sanctum; but in order to avoid a repetition of this neglect we advised the offended lady to send the “glad tidings” in herself next time. 

Some men have no business in politics, and politics is all the business some men have. 

Rev. Handel is pushing the work on the St. James church renovations. Our “Little Minister” is a tireless worker.

Next Wednesday, Nov. 11, will be the seventh anniversary of the Armistice of the greatest war in all history. 

The only smiling faces the editor saw on coming to work Wednesday morning of this week, were the owners of the coal mines. Couldn’t blame them as six inches of snow ought to wake a lot of people up to the fact that summer is gone and their coal bins are empty.

After two days of high wind, the first real winter weather put in its appearance on Wednesday of this week. By noon there was six inches of snow on the ground and by night that amount had increased to nearly a foot. 

Rangely now has a newspaper. The Rangely News, edited by E.H. Weston. It is a very well got up sheet of six pages and of standard size, which is better than one might expect in the beginning.

Nobody wants it to end but the day these 11 MHS seniors hang up their pads is growing close whether they win or lose this week at Paonia. A crew that refuses to give up when things get rough, the following seniors have spearheaded this year’s squad: Rod Richardson, Glen Papez, Cleve Gibbon, John Wix and Dirck Garcia. Top row from left to right include Tim Randall, David Carnahan, Vernon Lyda, Paul Edwards, Matt Smith and Kim Kracht. 

The culinary talents of Mrs. Jo Tucker, wife of football coach Bob Tucker of Meeker were recognized in the November issue of Colorado Country Life when her recipe for “Chess Pie” was published in the “Cast Iron Skillet” recipe section.

Health tests concluded by the Colorado Department of Health on school children in Rangely show that the number who suffer permanent hearing loss because of noise exposure is markedly higher than normal.

Rangely is being visited, and assisted, by various city planners who have been lending their craft and expertise to assist the town in planning constructively for growth and/or change, when it comes, if it comes, and before it comes. 

Man blames fate for other accidents but feels personally responsible when he makes a hole in one.

The Colorado Department of Transportation gets $4 million to continue the work on Colorado highway 139.

BMS 8th grader Justin Jacob took a jump shot during the first game of the season against Rangely. Rangely won the game 25-13.
