Stock Agent Barney of the Rio Grande spent a few days among our stockmen this week. The popular Barney is always welcome here.
No society affair in this town is complete without the presence of C.J. Duffy. Needless to say the genial Charley graced the last dance with his presence.

Well, we might just as well look pleasant and console ourselves with the reflection that there will be another election two years hence.
People in this section woke up Thursday morning to find nearly a foot of snow on the level covering Mother Earth. As the ground hasn’t frozen most of this snow will go into the ground. According to reports received the storm was general.

Coach Bob Tucker’s Cowboy football team, who really hit their stride three weeks ago, bombarded the Battle Mountain Huskies to the tune of 55 to 21, Saturday afternoon in a game played at Minturn.
Winter coming, Mr. and Mrs. George Hauswald planned to leave the early part of this week for their winter residence in Pheonix, Ariz.
Mike Lugenbeel has recently completed an eight week course at Elkins Institute in Denver from which he received a 1st class Radio license.

The Meeker Cowboys finished their football season with a 29-6 loss to the Cedaredge Bruins last Friday on the road.
The Meeker Town Council on Nov. 2 adopted an ordinance to increase water rates. The ordinance will go into effect beginning with the December billing.
The Tooth Fairy is alive and well and living in Meeker high school.

The bank of Rangely’s burglar alarm equipment was set off on Monday night by a short circuit in the system. The alarm service representative has corrected the malfunction and has serviced the entire system.
House guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Duckett for five days were Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Hoggard (a sister), of England, Ark.

With the onset of the second rifle season, reports from Division of Wildlife field officers indicate the hunting pressure is down statewide compared to last year.
Coming off of their disappointing homecoming loss, the Rangely varsity Panther football team traveled to Meeker Oct. 22, where they would meet their rival Cowboys. The game stayed very close until into the fourth quarter when the Panthers scored two quick touchdowns and ran away with the game.
